Bury BID Brings Festive Sparkle to the Town Centre

Bury town centre is set to shine this Christmas, as Bury BID (Business Improvement District) continues our popular festive lighting scheme for the third year, funded entirely by the town centre’s businesses.

Over 40,000 LED lights will brighten up The Old Rock, Kay Gardens, Market Place, Bolton Street and Library Gardens, complementing the displays already in place at The Rock and Mill Gate. The lights have been carefully designed, produced, and installed by Blachere Illuminations Ltd to create a welcoming, festive atmosphere for everyone visiting the town.

Nigel Shields, Bury Town Centre Director, said:

“These lights are a wonderful way to bring the community together and make Bury town centre feel festive and welcoming. It’s about more than decorations – it’s about supporting local businesses, celebrating our town, and giving families and visitors a reason to enjoy everything Bury has to offer this season.”

The festive season officially kicks off on Saturday 8 November, with a full programme of events to make the town centre sparkle.

Highlights include The Rock’s Christmas Light Switch On Parade, the launch of Bury BID’s North Pole Safari Trail, Bury Beer Festival at The Met (7 – 8 Nov) and a host of other activities designed to bring the town centre to life.

The lighting scheme also supports Bury BID’s Safe and Clean initiatives, helping to create an inviting environment for shoppers, visitors, and local businesses alike.

With its combination of stunning displays, festive events, and community spirit, Bury town centre promises to be the perfect place to shop, celebrate, and enjoy the magic of the season.
