Comic Con Returns to Bury – What to Expect from This Year’s Out-of-This-World Line-Up

Bury town centre is gearing up to be taken over by superheroes, sci-fi stars and pop culture icons as Comic Con returns on Sunday 29 June 2025 – and the best part? It is completely free to attend.

This year’s event promises even more excitement, with a town-wide trail of themed zones, live performances, special guests and family-friendly fun around every corner.

From Dinosaurs to Dancing Stormtroopers

Visitors can expect jaw-dropping entertainment including life-sized dinosaurs in Kay Gardens, walking Transformers roaming The Rock and a show-stopping performance from Boogie Storm, the iconic stormtrooper dance crew, who will be performing in St John’s Square.

Nearby in the Star Wars Zone at The Rock, visitors can pose for photos with the incredible 5th Legion cosplay crew, known for their screen-accurate costumes and galactic flair. It is a must-visit for Star Wars fans of all ages.

Movie Moments and Comic Legends

The Movie Vehicles Zone outside Racconto Lounge at The Rock will showcase fan-favourite cars and character appearances, making it the perfect photo opportunity for film buffs.

Over at The Fusilier Museum, fans can visit the Doctor Who Zone, where the 5th Doctor himself, Peter Davison, will be joined by companions Janet Fielding and Sarah Sutton for meet-and-greets. They will be joined by Doctor Who and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness performer Clem So.

Comic book lovers can head to Bury Art Museum’s Comic Creator Zone to meet top illustrators and writers including David Leach, and international guests from Angoulême – – Bury’s twin town and the world capital of comic art.

And don’t miss the Trader Zone in Mill Gate Shopping Centre, with pop culture merchandise, comics, collectables and more.

Cosplay Competition – Dress to Impress

One of the day’s highlights is the fan-favourite Cosplay Competition at The Met. Whether you are a Marvel hero, anime icon or original creation, everyone is welcome.
