Broad Street Social featured in CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2027

Beer lovers have another reason to raise a glass in Bury, with Broad Street Social included in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2027.
The town-centre venue has been recognised in the latest edition of the Good Beer Guide, the annual guide produced by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), which highlights pubs and venues across the UK with a focus on quality beer and the places that serve it.
For Bury, the inclusion adds another name to the town’s choice of places to enjoy a good pint – and there’s no better time to discover what the town has to offer.
Broad Street Social is celebrating Oktoberfest from 5–11 October, bringing a taste of the traditional German beer festival to the town centre. Find out more @broadstsocial.
Over at Marketside Tavern, Oktoberfest gets underway on 3 October, with a fantastic range of bottled beers and live music from Steve Hogan. Follow them @marketsidetavernbury.
And there are plenty of other places to explore, from traditional pubs such as The Two Tubs, The Robert Peel, The Old White Lion and The Knowsley, to town-centre favourites including The Bank and Murphy’s.
For something a little different, The Trackside at Bury Bolton Street Station offers the chance to enjoy a changing selection of real ales alongside the East Lancashire Railway. Situated on Platform 2, it has a unique railway setting and a platform beer garden.
The railway also runs its Rail Ale Trail, combining heritage train travel with stops at pubs along the line and a look at the area’s long brewing traditions. The 2026 Rail Ale Trail dates have now finished, but it’s another example of the ways Bury’s railway heritage and beer culture come together.
More beer on the way
Beer lovers can also look forward to the return of The Met’s Beer Festival on 6–7 November.
The festival will celebrate some of the best breweries from across the North West, with Brewsmith, Brightside Brewing Company and Wakey Brew Co among those announced so far, with more breweries still to be revealed.
Tickets for The Met’s Beer Festival are on sale now through The Met.
So whether you’re looking for a traditional pub, a modern bar, a pint beside a steam train or the chance to discover some of the North West’s independent breweries, there’s plenty happening in Bury for beer lovers this autumn.
