Get set for the return of Run for All Bury BID 10K in 2026
Bury BID is delighted to confirm the return of the much-anticipated Bury Running Festival in 2026, delivered in partnership with Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All and Bury Council.
Taking place on Sunday 20 September 2026, the festival will once again bring thousands of runners, supporters and volunteers into Bury for a day focused on sport, community spirit and fundraising for local good causes.
Bury BID 10K at the heart of the festival
At the centre of the event is the Bury BID 10K, which continues to be a key highlight of the town’s annual events calendar. The route will start and finish outside The Rock Shopping Centre, guiding participants through a scenic course including Tottington and Bury Road, before joining the Kirklees Trail and returning towards the town centre.
Designed to be inclusive and accessible, the 10K welcomes both experienced runners and those taking part in their first organised event.
Events for all ages
Alongside the flagship 10K, the festival will once again feature the popular Mini and Junior runs, giving younger participants the opportunity to take part in a supportive and energetic atmosphere.
- Bury Mini (1.5K): For children aged 3–8, completed alongside a parent or guardian
- Bury Junior (2.5K): For participants aged 9–14
These events continue to play an important role in encouraging physical activity from an early age and fostering a sense of community participation.
A milestone 10th year
The 2026 festival marks 10 years since the inaugural event in 2016, and the third consecutive year of headline support from Bury BID. Working alongside Run For All and Bury Council, the BID remains committed to promoting health and wellbeing while supporting the vitality of the town centre.

Community impact and charitable support
Each year, the event raises thousands of pounds for local and regional causes, including Backup, Bury Football Club, Jigsaw, and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. The festival continues to deliver both social value and economic benefit to the town centre, supporting local businesses through increased footfall and visitor numbers.

The festival is organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All in partnership with Bury Council and Bury BID, alongside a wide range of event partners who help make the day possible.
